    Abbie Ross, PT, DPT, NCS

    Dr. Abbie Ross is a board-certified neurologic clinical specialist with expertise in vestibular and balance disorders. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Upstate Medical University and has advanced training in vestibular rehabilitation, including the Vestibular Competency Course from Duke University.

    In 2018, she launched one of the first virtual vestibular therapy practices, making expert care more accessible. She later co-founded Talk Dizzy to Me, a podcast and YouTube series that shares expert insights and patient stories. Alongside Dr. Danielle Tolman, she also creates self-help courses and educational content to help people manage vestibular symptoms.

    Dr. Ross is actively involved in the vestibular community, serving on the board of the Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) and continuously working to educate and support those on their vestibular journey.

    Danielle Tolman, PT, DPT

    Dr. Danielle Tolman is a physical therapist specializing in vestibular and balance disorders. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Misericordia University and completed the Vestibular Competency Course at Duke University. A self-proclaimed "vestibuloholic," she is passionate about understanding the vestibular system, its dysfunction, and effective treatments.

    Dr. Tolman combines clinical expertise with innovation, developing a 3D-printed vestibular model to enhance education for both patients and clinicians. She co-hosts Talk Dizzy to Me alongside Dr. Abbie Ross, where they explore vestibular topics through expert and patient interviews. Together, they also create self-help courses designed to empower individuals with dizziness and vestibular dysfunction.

    Dr. Tolman is certified in LSVT BIG for Parkinson’s Disease treatment and previously served on the board of the Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA).

    Carly Lochala, PT, DPT, NCS

    Dr. Carly Lochala is a board-certified neurologic clinical specialist with expertise in vestibular disorders, functional neurologic disorders, and facial paralysis rehabilitation. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York University and completed a neurologic residency at the University of Southern California. She has also completed the Vestibular Competency Course at Duke University.

    In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lochala is passionate about physical therapy education. She is an Assistant Professor at USC and mentors clinicians nationwide through the Neurologic Physical Therapy Professional Education Consortium. She also develops continuing education courses to help providers better understand and treat functional neurologic disorders.

    Outside of work, Dr. Lochala enjoys running, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her two children.

    Our Start

    Balancing Act Rehabilitation (BAR) was one of the first telehealth physical therapy providers in the United States, launching virtual vestibular therapy in 2018. We recognized the need for more accessible, expert care and set out to create a better way for people to receive the support they deserve.

    Our Name

    We chose our name with intention. Life is a constant balancing act—whether you’re a busy parent, working long hours, or feeling too exhausted or symptomatic to commute to an appointment. Prioritizing your health and finding a vestibular provider shouldn’t add to your stress. That’s why we make expert vestibular care accessible and flexible, allowing you to schedule appointments all from the comfort of your home.
    Beyond life’s daily demands, “Balancing Act” also reflects a core challenge of vestibular disorders: imbalance. Our specialized therapists are here to help you regain your stability, confidence, and quality of life, providing care that is accessible, effective, and tailored to your needs.
